It is really a rock and roll bar because you do rock and roll while there. Anyway, Captain Nicks rock and rollbar is located at 34 Ocean Ave, New Shoreham in Block Island.

If you prefer a night of loud music and dancing to one of listening to relaxing calm music while sitting and sipping on your drink, this is your place.

This is one of the most popular bars on the island. You must be wondering why it is not my number one but I also cater to those who prefer low sounds to loud music.

It is of course more popular with younger people and it always has a full crowd compared to other places on the island.

They are strict and tight on security so only people who are 21 are allowed indoors. They have two live stages though. One inside and the other outside.

So, if you forget your ID or are not yet 21, you can still catch a show on the outside stage if lucky. They have amazing drinks too otherwise why would the place be popular?

They also take cash only so be prepared. So, if you want to go out for a night of drinking and dancing, Captain nick’s is the best on the island.

4. Club Soda

This one is located at 35 Connecticut Ave, New Shoreham in Block Island. It is located in the middle of a residential area and is often frequented by the locals of the area.

However, when you discover this one, you will be amazed. The first thing that appeals to me is their giant chess board.

For all my people that love games while having a good time drinking, this is the best option. They obviously have great drinks and amazing music which is simple and not very loud so you can just hangout at the bar for as long as you want.

Back to the games, they have the life-sized chess board which is fun to play on. They have a pool table, foosball, connect four, janga and for all the nerds, they have video games too.

6. Ballard’s Beach Resort

Ballard’s beach resort is a great location to go for a relaxing day. it is located at 42 Water St, Block Island. It has several tiki bars which start serving drinks at 10am.

This one right here is my favourite because when you are on holiday, day drinking does not seem like such a bad idea.

They serve a variety of drinks including exotic cocktails sometimes with many variations of the same drink like the Ballard’s bloody bar’s variation of the Bloody Mary drink where they have the Classic Mary, the Boom Boom Mary and the Skinny Vodka Mary.

They serve elegant wines and beers too. the vibe there is mostly a party always on the move vibe. The resort also has live music performances every day during the summer.

They have an entertainment calendar available online where you can find out what particular performers are performing and when to plan your time there better.

Here, you can enjoy your drinks and also have simple access to other stuff at the resort like great restaurants, the hotel and the beach. You must also know that the resort went cashless.

This is definitely the worthiest Block Island bar location.

7. Poor Peoples Pub

I do not know what they meant by Poor Peoples Pub. Probably something along the lines of affordable for everyone or did they mean something else?

We don’t know but I love the place. This bar is not showy and out there like some others on the island. It is located at 33 ocean Ave, Block Island.

They have both an indoors and an outdoors sitting area. So, you can sit where you like depending on what you prefer. They have spectacular food and serve great drinks. It is a simple uncomplicated bar that you can go just to hangout and have conversations with friends and/or family.

On Sunday, they host a popular “Rehab Brunch” where you can buy 5-dollar mimosas. On Friday and Saturday, they host dance parties.

You can also just sit by the bar and watch the game (whatever game is on, I’m not good with sports) on their flat screen TVs (they have a couple).

They have everything for everyone. Great cocktails for adults and good simple foods for the kids like their amazing tacos.

You also get an amazing view of the beach while here so you do not miss out on the beauty of the island by being indoors.

The thing that draws me to this one is that even parents can have a good time without worrying about how and where they left their children.

It closes early though probably because they entertain children too. anyway, if you are looking for a simple fun place to be to enjoy your drinking even with children around, this is definitely the place to go. The staff is nice and welcoming too.

This pub is located at 85 Ocean Ave, New Shoreham in Block Island. It is a relatively small place that looks like someone’s house and its appearance does add to its appeal.

They have a small food menu and a large bottled beer list. They have liquor and wines too. it is not well known because it is Block island’s most recent pub and is still known by a few people. The advantages of this is that there is a lesser crowd and the service is amazing.

The place has weekly kitchen specials on the menu. They also have Taco Tuesday and Sunday brunch.

Like most of the other bars here, the Old Island pub also hosts live music shows frequently. They are open all year from noon to 1 in the morning.

I would definitely frequent this pub for its food because it is great and to have the occasional drink every now and then. I guarantee you will love this place.

10. Block island oyster bar and grill

This bar is located at 251 Spring St, new Shoreham, block island. They offer food and drinks and music.

Their food is great semi fancy food including lobster, tuna, land chops and so much more. Going to a bar with great food too is such a steal if you ask me.

You do not have to go hoping across town at 2 am looking for a great food place because it is right there.

A 2 in 1 deal. Anyway, this bar is also not as popular but it is a good bar. It has great drink options too including liquor, beer and wine.

Most people talk about it because of the food though and the amazing severs who are both kind and attentive.
